What you are booking, who you contract with, and which law applies in Georgia.
Same as pickup
Most car hire terms open with definitions. This one opens with the thing people get wrong: there are two separate agreements in a Batumi booking, and only one of them is with us.
The agreement that puts you behind the wheel is between you and the supplier that owns the car. You sign it at handover in Batumi, and it is the document that settles fuel, mileage, damage, the excess and what happens if the car comes back late. Nothing on this website replaces that agreement, and nothing on this website can override a clause inside it.
These terms cover one thing: your use of this website and the booking request you send through it. That is the whole of the relationship between you and Batumi Hire Car.
We own no cars, keep no keys, staff no counter and hold no deposit. Where a sentence on this site reads as though we do, read it as a description of the supplier instead.
The grid at the top of this page is a live feed. Around five hundred cars are listed for Batumi, and both the price and the availability can move between the moment the page loads and the moment a booking is confirmed. The figure that binds anybody is the one on the confirmation issued by the supplier.
The quickest way to read the rest of this page. Where the middle column does not say Batumi Hire Car, we are not the party who can fix it.
| Subject | Who answers | What that means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| The price shown on this site | The supplier sets it | It arrives from the supplier feed and changes within the day. We publish the number, we do not decide it. |
| Your booking record and confirmation | The supplier issues it | The confirmation comes from the supplier and is the document to quote if anything is later questioned. |
| The car, its documents and its condition | The supplier | Roadworthiness, insurance paperwork and the inspection at handover all belong to the company giving you the keys. |
| The deposit or the card hold | The supplier | About one listing in three asks for a low deposit and the rest ask for nothing. In neither case does the money reach us. |
| Damage and the excess you accepted | You and the supplier | The excess is fixed in the rental agreement you sign, not in the request you send from here. |
| Cancelling before pickup | The supplier grants it | Roughly half of the listings we counted can be cancelled at no cost. That right is attached to the individual car. |
| Speeding fines and parking penalties | You | Penalties issued in Georgia follow the driver, and a supplier may add a handling charge for processing one. |
| Taking the car over a national border | The supplier permits it | Only the supplier can allow it, and the permission has to exist in writing before you drive away. |
Loading the grid, filtering it and opening a car create no obligation on either side. A booking exists only once the supplier has confirmed it. Until then the terms that matter are the ones printed on the individual listing rather than the ones on this page: the deposit, the cancellation window, the mileage allowance and whether the car is delivered to you. Close to six in ten listings in Batumi include delivery, and whether yours does is written on the car, not promised here.
Bring a licence you are entitled to drive on in Georgia, your passport, and a card in the name of the main driver. The supplier will ask you to sign its own agreement, and that signature, not your booking request, is what creates the rental. Walk around the car and photograph it before you pull away. Once you have accepted the vehicle, the condition record is the one the two of you agreed at the kerb, and we are not a party to it.
A traffic penalty issued in Georgia can reach the supplier long after you have flown home, and it is passed to the driver who signed. A damage claim works the same way. Take either to the supplier first, because it holds the agreement, the inspection record and the payment. Write to us and we will send you what we actually hold, which is the booking request and the correspondence attached to it.

Passing yourself off. Do not present yourself as Batumi Hire Car, or as one of the suppliers, when contacting anyone.
Where the numbers come from. Every price and every count on this site is read off the live supplier feed for Batumi.
They move. On the day we measured it the board ran from roughly EUR 27 to roughly EUR 45 a day. It will not be identical when you read this.
Obvious errors. A listing that is plainly wrong may be corrected or withdrawn without notice, and a supplier may decline a booking made on one.
What we answer for. Running this website and passing your request to the supplier you picked from the grid.
What we do not answer for. The condition of a car, a late handover, a refused booking, a hold placed on your card, or a dispute about damage.
What cannot be limited. No clause on this page limits liability for fraud, or for anything the law of Georgia does not allow to be limited.
The coast road south of Batumi runs to the Sarpi crossing into Turkey, and the roads inland lead towards the Armenian and Azerbaijani frontiers. That geography is behind more queries about these terms than anything else on the page, so it gets its own section rather than a line in a list.
A car hired in Georgia does not carry an automatic right to leave it. Suppliers here treat a crossing as a separate permission: it is requested before pickup, it is granted in writing, it frequently carries its own fee, and it needs insurance that is valid on the far side. A confirmation issued through this website is not that permission, and Batumi Hire Car cannot grant one on a supplier behalf.
The same caution applies to the long domestic runs people plan from the coast. Leaving a car in Tbilisi instead of bringing it back to Batumi is an arrangement the supplier has to accept in advance. If a listing does not say that it allows it, assume that it does not, and read the one way hire page before you commit to a route.
Answers to these belong to the supplier and are not something this website can confirm for you.
These terms are governed by the law of Georgia. Any dispute between you and Batumi Hire Car about this website belongs before the courts of Georgia. A dispute about the car itself belongs with the supplier, under the agreement the two of you signed, and it will usually be heard where that supplier is established.
If you are resident somewhere else, the mandatory consumer protections of your own country continue to apply wherever the law gives them to you. Nothing written here is intended to remove a right that you cannot lawfully be asked to give up, and any clause that tried to would simply fail.
We revise this page from time to time, usually because the suppliers we list have revised their own conditions. The version published here at the moment you send a booking request is the version that governs that request. Revisions are not notified individually, so check the page if you are booking again after a long gap.
If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the remainder of the page stands on its own. Not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive it on the next. These terms sit alongside two shorter documents: the privacy policy, which covers the data you send us, and the cookie policy, which covers what the site stores in your browser.
Written enquiries go to Batumi Hire Car, Reynolds Alley, 6000 Batumi, Georgia, or by email to [email protected]. Tell us the booking reference from your supplier confirmation and we will answer with whatever is on our side of the transaction.
Everything above describes the frame. The conditions that will actually govern your trip are printed on the individual listing, and around five hundred of them are open for Batumi right now.
